A logbook for curious waters

About this logbook

Rough at Sea

Rough at Sea is my personal commonplace book. More often than not, something will strike my fancy and I'll ask a frontier model (usually Gemini or ChatGPT) to investigate it for me and then write an article here about the thing that struck my fancy in that moment.

What you’ll find here

The subjects are all over the place. If you find a common thread, let me know. As far as I can tell my interests are super random. You'll find articles about artificial intelligence, games, books, science, medicine, music, storytelling, and more. From my point of view, the common thread is curiosity rather than a single niche.

Why “Rough at Sea”?

"Rough at Sea" is my favorite flavor of ice cream at a local ice cream shop. But the name makes sense on many levels. All of our lives are like sailing a rough sea; no one really knows where they are going or what they are doing, but doing it feels like a worthwhile adventure.
